X-rays help Dr. Alder spot problems that are hidden or invisible to the naked eye. With this tool, he can find decay in cracks and crevices, cavities, signs of infection indicating gum disease, lumps or masses - both malignant or benign, and any bone loss.

At Alder Dental, we can help you maintain a healthy mouth. By detecting problems before they grow into larger problems you are protecting your teeth and saving yourself both pain and money.

Digital Versus Traditional X-rays


Dr. Alder knows that digital x-rays offer many advantages from traditional x-rays. Though both types offer the sources that we need, the advantages are clear.

Digital x-rays:
•  use image capturing software, allowing us images with immediate access
•  allow images to be seen on a large screen in the room with the patient
•  allow images to be enlarged
•  offer images that are incredibly clear with a very high resolution
•  allow us to save the images in a file under your name on our computer system, so it is never lost
•  allow us to email these images to another dentist or oral surgeon at your request
•  use significantly less radiation than traditional x-rays, around 75% less
